For the past two years, I've struggled to move forward in my professional life. After finishing my Bachelor's in 2021, I developed some amazing music events and compilations. Around that time, I also moved to Lebanon, TN, to live with family.

Since then, I’ve applied to countless jobs in the regional industrial industry, but with little success—no engagement, no callbacks. This led me into a period of depression, though it wasn’t the sole cause. However, about six months ago, something sparked a change in me. I rediscovered some audio hacking courses by Eric Tarr at Belmont, which I had attended in person when they were recorded in the late 2010s. At that time, I was focused on my studies at Vol State but had always promised myself that I would return to learn coding for real-time audio someday.

Revisiting those lectures took me back to a time before I became deeply involved in promoting events in Nashville. It reminded me of what it felt like to be in a constructive, learning environment. Motivated, I dove back into OpenGL programming, focusing learning the development of integrating graphics and audio for real-time processing.

Shortly after, my father visited me from Minnesota. Sensing my renewed thirst for knowledge and my desire to challenge myself, he suggested I consider taking courses at Cumberland. The convenience and the potential to pursue a Master’s degree became apparent. After some research and a successful application to become a Graduate Assistant, I embarked on the next chapter of my journey.
